As GMC’s mid-size SUV, the Acadia expands on the Terrain’s capabilities with a larger engine, seating for up to seven, more interior cargo room, and a higher towing capacity when properly equipped. You’ll have more to love from this SUV when you want more space for your growing family or your adventures.
Up the comfort level with second-row captain’s chairs that give you plenty of room to relax on long drives to your favorite camping spot, lake destination, or summer vacay places. The third-row seats three comfortably for a top seating capacity of seven. You can opt for three rows of captain’s chairs for seating six.
Everyone has at least 3 feet of legroom from front to back, giving everyone plenty of space for a cozy road trip. Even the back row gives your passengers ample room for every drive.
With a growing family, you want plenty of room for people but also cargo for the long haul and weekly errands. You’ve got plenty of configurations on the inside, depending on your cargo requirements at any given time.
The second-row passenger seats slide forward so people can easily get to the third row of seats if needed. They can also fold down when you need to max out your cargo space for weekly shopping or DIY projects. Folding down all the seats lets you create a mobile space for camping, days at the lake, or tailgating like a pro in Arrowhead’s parking lot ahead of the big game.
Whether you’ve got DIY projects every weekend or love getting away from Springfield for a few days, the GMC Acadia helps you maximize your potential.
With a bigger size comes a bigger engine. The GMC Acadia has two engine types available.
The base engine is a 2.0L, four-cylinder turbo engine, standard on the SLE and SLT trims. As you get to the AT4 and Denali trims, the standard engine is a 3.6L V6 powerplant, which you can get as an upgrade for the SLT trim.
If you want better handling on slick roads, the AT4 has AWD capabilities to send power to all four wheels in less-than-ideal driving conditions when better traction control is needed.
The smaller engine gets 22/29 city/highway mpg, which is very good for a mid-size SUV. The larger engine gets 19/27 city/highway mpg, so not too much lower than the smaller engine. Your actual results may vary based on the trailering and cargo hauling.
Tow up to a maximum of 4,000 pounds when you select a GMC Acadia with the V6 engine alongside the trailering package. With a smaller engine, you could tow anywhere from 1,000 to 3,250 pounds. For maximum towing, select the SLT, AT4, or Denali trims with the larger engine.
The trailering equipment package has everything you need to excel at cargo hauling and trailering, including:
When you add a roof rack attached properly to the roof rails, you can max out your cargo handling on long trips.
With 4,000 pounds of trailering, you can handle the following:
High-tech safety features can help reduce trailer sway while giving you camera angles to see better when changing lanes.
